Power Sources Power Content Label

Annual Energy Disclosure

Power Content Label

Each year, WestLight Energy reports information about the electricity we purchase for our customers through California’s Power Source Disclosure Program.

The Power Content Label below provides a standardized annual accounting of electricity sources and greenhouse gas emissions for each of our energy products, along with the California utility average.

What is the Power Content Label?

The Power Source Disclosure Program provides Californians with annual information about the sources of electricity supplied by their energy provider. Each year, energy providers like WestLight Energy report the mix of energy sources and greenhouse gas emissions associated with each of their electricity products.

This information is presented in a standardized Power Content Label, alongside “CA Utility Average” for comparison.

The label includes:

  • The annual mix of renewable, large hydroelectric, nuclear, fossil fuel and unspecified power associated with each electricity product
  • Greenhouse gas emissions intensity calculated under the state’s reporting methodology
  • A comparison with California’s overall electricity mix

The Power Content Label is based on annual accounting. It does not show when electricity was generated or how electricity supply aligns with customer demand at different times of the day or year. It also does not represent the full scope of how WestLight Energy plans and procures its energy portfolio.

■ This label does not reflect compliance with the Renewables Portfolio Standard (RPS), which measures the use of tracking instruments called Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) over the course of multi-year compliance periods. RECs that are purchased separately from the renewable energy ("Unbundled RECs") can be used for RPS compliance, but they do not factor into the power mixes or GHG emissions intensities above.

■ GHG intensity figures exclude biogenic CO2 and emissions from geothermal sources and grandfathered imports of firmed-and-shaped energy. For detailed information about all GHG emissions from California's retail electricity suppliers, visit the CEC webpage at the link below.

■ Unspecified power is electricity purchased from a genericized pool on the open market. In 2025, 92% of unspecified power came from fossil fuels (natural gas, coal, and petroleum) and 8% came from renewables and zero-carbon resources (RPS-eligible and other renewables, large hydroelectric, and nuclear).
