WestLight Energy Authority issues this Request for Proposals (RFP) to seek offers from highly-qualified providers to provide technical program support for the EV Ready Program. The WestLight Energy EV Ready program is an award-winning EV charging infrastructure and technical assistance program that is reducing barriers to EV adoption by addressing charging infrastructure needs, particularly for critically underserved communities such as residents of multifamily housing. This RFP is seeking proposals to continue the administration of the technical assistance offering for customers in the EV Ready program, further described in detail in this RFP. WestLight Energy is intending to award a five-year contract with the option to extend.
Since its launch in 2019 the EV Ready program has provided one-on-one design assistance for over 250 properties, provided funding for nearly 2,000 installed charging ports, and has another 2,000+ ports currently in construction or moving to construction shortly. The selected contractor will support existing customers as well as pursuing new technical assistance signups. The technical assistance feature of the program is intended to help customers decide on the best EV charging solution for their property and to introduce technologies to customers that advance EV adoption at scale such as smart outlets and load managed charging.
In addition to providing technical assistance to customers, the selected contractor will provide program support including strategic program development, marketing and education collateral generation, and additional EV Charging related program support as required. The program aims to make access to EV charging equitable and ubiquitous across our service territory.
