Dear Customer,
We’re writing to inform you that we’ve updated our annual cash-out process for solar billing plan (SBP) customers.
During the April 2025 annual cash out, SBP customers who were net generators received a cash out payment based on the Net Surplus Compensation (NSC) rate for the excess energy they produced, and any remaining escrow credits were rolled over in their energy export credit (EEC) balance. However, this process will be changing in 2026.
What’s changing?
- As an SBP customer, you will now be cashed out for the accrued EEC credit balance shown on the WestLight Energy page of your PG&E statement, rather than at the NSC rate.
- EEC credit balances under $500 will be applied as a bill credit.
- EEC balances over $500 will be issued as a check payment.
- After your April 2026 billing cycle, the escrow credit balance will reset and will no longer be rolled over.
No action is required on your part. This change will automatically apply to the upcoming SBP annual cash out in April 2026. This update simplifies SBP billing while improving the value you receive for the energy you export.
